Pic(k) of the week 45: Following the moon

Most people probably know that the moon plays a large role in Muslim religion. What I didn't know is that the exterior lighting system of the Sheik Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi (UAE), changes color with the phases of the moon. A full moon makes the mosque bath in white color while a new moon gives it a deep dark blue tint. The system even simulates clouds diffusing the light even further.
